Just realized I never posted the results from the Jingle Bell 5K. Sick as a dog but my time is not bad. Jingle Bells 5K results.
If you have been watching The Colbert Report this week, you've caught their first 3 part series, taking place in Tuscumbia, AL in Colbert County. This is right down the road from Muscle Shoals, also in Colbert County. Always good to see the old neighborhood getting some press. With a deaf sister, the Helen Keller museum/festival and watching the Miracle Worker was an annual event.

Apparently I am a benevolent leader (as I always suspected). Yeah one of those online quizzes but more interesting than the average. Take the quiz for yourself and post the results in the comments!
I recently took a trip to Ireland so I could be at St. James' Brewery for when I became XXX worthy. I also became an Master Brewer's Honorary Apprentice. I also enjoyed the world's best pint at the source. My goodness.
I signed up for the Jingle Bell 5K on Dec 2 to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. Please consider donating to help me meet my goal of $100. I also have a friendly wager with this guy on who will have the best time. I need to get down to 7.5 min miles so I have been putting some time on the treadmill. Wish me luck.
Yesterday I went to the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and caught a very cool documentary called Beyond the Call. The film is based around three of the guys who run Knightsbridge, a humanitarian organization that goes into high-risk areas to help the people most in need. Well worth the 90 min viewing time. Ed Artis and the other guys featured in the film are really interesting folks and the source of the title of this post.
The film festival has been something I have been wanting to go to since I moved to Arkansas. It takes place at the old Malco theater on Central in Hot Springs. Tickets are $5 per movie (at least that is how much it cost me to see Beyond the Call). Hot Springs is a fun little town to tour between films you want to watch since the theater is walking distance to everything downtown. The festival ends today but next year I will definitely put more planning into it.
